From being a customer of Cycle Exchange late last year, through getting to know the Founder Matt Connelley and investors Beringea in particular Kiu Kim, CFA through to joining the board last month, I can honestly say it’s been a genuine pleasure. Here we go on the journey to create the future of premium bike retail in the UK….
Bill James has joined Cycle Exchange as our new Board Chair. Bill is a fantastic addition to the team and a real win for us, as we set our sights on accelerating growth across the UK over the coming years.
Bill brings 30+ years of experience creating, scaling and transforming businesses. He has led significant business units and major change programmes at Nestlé, Salvesen and Unipart, and led digital transformation programs at Kingfisher, Thomas Cook and BT.
From large institutions he moved into start up territory, building digital transformation consultancy CVL through to a successful exit. Now as non-exec chair for the business (now Transform UK) he guides a leader in tech & data transformation. Along the way, Bill has advised and chaired a string of start-up and growth businesses, backing several through to successful exits. He also now chairs Automated Analytics (AI for Data Insights).
Until recently Bill served as Chair of British Triathlon Federation and a Non-Executive Director of the British Olympic Association (Team GB), reflecting his lifelong passion for sport.
Bill’s blend of corporate leadership, hands on growth experience and deep sector knowledge in digital, tech and data makes him exactly the right person to help guide Cycle Exchange through our next exciting chapter.
