Bill’s career has been spent creating, evolving and scaling businesses.
Initially in the corporate world with the likes of Nestle, Salvesen and Unipart leading operational P&L businesses and major change before pivoting into building the future of digital business from within, at Kingfisher, Thomas Cook and BT.
From there it was a move into the world of start-up and growth – joining the inimitable Simon Clark in building digital transformation consultancy CVL to scale, and to exit by sale – and staying the course as non-exec chair to support the exceptional Emma Robertson in building what is now Transform UK, a leader in tech & data transformation.
Along the way, Bill has worked with an impressive roster of big name clients, and taken on the challenge with start-up and growth businesses as advisor and/or non-exec. Mostly in the digital, tech and data domains but notably with some significant involvement in the sport sector where Bill’s passion is at its greatest.
Bill is currently – chair of Transform, technology and data transformation consultancy, chair of Automated Analytics, using AI to turbocharge data insight, and chair of Cycle Exchange, making the process of buying bikes even better. Also, until recently – chair of British Triathlon Federation and non-exec director of British Olympic Association (Team GB).
Bill supported the growth and exit of CVL Consulting (sold to Engine Group and onto Next 15), Fount Solutions (sold to Transvisual Media), InsightExec (sold to SiftMedia, rebranded MyCustomer.com) and WG Group (now part of the WPP empire).
